o11yfest (a.k.a. “Observe 2021”) is a two-day VIRTUAL technology conference on May 17th and 18th, 2021, focused on empowering DevOps practitioners with solutions that improve observability over systems and processes.

Last year’s conference was a huge first-time success, despite the global crisis and last-minute virtualization of the event. You can view all the recordings here.

This Year’s Event

This year’s focus will be on the OpenTelemetry project since the project’s stated GA is end of H2 2020. We have already seen its predecessor projects, OpenCensus and OpenTracing, adopted by many organizations.

Putting our Efforts Towards Equity and Inclusion

Our event organizing team is dedicated to increasing equity and inclusion in technology and have already committed to the following:

  • A Code of Conduct that reflects organizer and community values
  • Contributing 100% of net ticket proceeds to a subset of community-approved good causes (see below)
  • Providing “Contributor” level sponsorships in exchange for a minimum donation of $2000 to a community-approved good cause (read more in the sponsor prospectus)

So far, our organizers have decided to scope “good causes” to the following non-profit organizations.:

If you feel there are other good causes that should be on this list, please contact the organizers.
